The Ližnjan Municipality Tourist Board invites all art enthusiasts, painters, and creative minds to the third edition of the Ex Tempore art event, which will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Valtura. The event is open to all generations – professional artists, amateurs, tourists, and local residents – regardless of previous artistic experience.

During the day, participants will have the opportunity to discover the cultural and natural heritage of Valtura and transform their personal impressions of the village into works of art. The artworks will be created outdoors, inspired by the area's historical and contemporary features, the archaeological site of Nesactium, its sacred heritage, and Valtura's authentic landscape.

The programme begins at 9:00 AM with a free guided interpretive tour of the Nesactium archaeological site, led by a licensed tourist guide and heritage interpreter, who will introduce participants to the stories and fascinating history of this remarkable site. The meeting point is at the entrance to Nesactium.

Canvas stamping will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the village cistern (šterna) in Valtura. Finished artworks must be submitted at the same location between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

An exhibition of all submitted artworks will open at 7:00 PM, followed by the award ceremony at 7:30 PM, where the best authors will receive symbolic prizes. An expert jury will award first, second, and third prizes in the adult category, as well as a first prize in the children's category.

The winning artworks will be donated to public institutions within the Municipality of Ližnjan, ensuring that these artistic creations remain a lasting part of the community and the place that inspired them.
